The “Bad Use of the Tongue” was depicted in many verses of the Holy Bible. Proverbs: 4:23 -“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” 10:19-“ In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise“. 21:23: “Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.

The tongue is the most potent weapon we have. Like nuclear weapons, we must keep our tongues safe and use it accordingly.

We equally have digital tongues today because we engage in all kinds of online networks- internet surfing, Facebook, Twitter, and so on.

Therefore, we should mind what we say digitally on these online platforms; as well as what we say live to others. These can be used against you tomorrow.
Our tongue can either save or kill us. It can help us to avert dangers and it we can expose us to our enemies.

Proverbs 29:11 says “A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth in till afterwards.”

Therefore, we should mind where/who we share our testimonies and breakthroughs, including business, marital, social and spiritual breakthroughs with. Inappropriate sharing of one’s testimony or breakthroughs may result in a miscarriage of a testimony.  Do not speak of your victory in the public or with everyone you see. Be careful also of those called ‘ministers in the vineyard of God’ for not all are equipped unto good work, and so sharing your breakthroughs may be costly at last.

Again, under elated conditions, either happiness or anger, we say things that we shouldn’t have said, made promises that we shouldn’t have made. When we return to normal, it’s hard to reverse some mistakes made by these two extreme conditions. As we boast, we can also share an uncalled-for information before the listeners.

James 3:8,10 says, “But the tongue can no man tame;  it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.  Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.”

Ask the Holy Ghost to help you tame your tongue because the tongue by its nature is untamable by any man. Only God can help us in this case.

Let us watch our tongues, and help one another in the battle to tame our tongues.
